Our Team

Daniel Finch

Managing Director

As well as being Finmec’s Managing Director, Daniel is also a trade qualified heavy-duty diesel mechanic. On completion of his training he worked extensively on job sites throughout Western Australia. This provided him with invaluable experience, a passion for his trade, and a desire to provide clients with a high-quality service. In 2007 Daniel established EMS (now Finmec), working as a mobile heavy-duty diesel mechanic, servicing all of Western Australia. Since then he has built up a strong client base, set-up a workshop in Port Hedland and seen the business grow exponentially to meet the demand for a high-quality repair, maintenance and hire service in the north west of Western Australia.

Larry Thomas, B Com CPA

Financial Controller

Larry is a Certified Practicing Accountant of 30 years standing.  An occupation he has held ever since he initially graduated from the University of WA. He has been involved in public practice as well as in a senior role with a publicly listed property development group. He has been a director, accountant and part owner of a substantial retail chain that employed over 300 people and operated in all of the mainland capital cities in Australia. Larry’s main professional interest (besides normal accounting) is cash flow forecasting and management, and statistical analysis of business indicators.

Davis Barber

Maintenance Manager

Davis has over 20 years experience in the mining and civil construction industries, holding senior roles in both asset management and maintenance management at projects throughout Western Australia and Internationally. With a strong focus on efficiency and reliability, Davis is responsible for Finmec’s continuous maintenance operations.

Adam Ford

Site Support Supervisor

Adam is a trade qualified heavy-duty diesel mechanic, but he is much more than that. After initially completing his training at EMS (now Finmec) Adam has consistently proven himself over the years to be an outstanding tradesperson and leader. Adam now supervises all site support contracts and field service jobs in our Port Hedland workshop and throughout the Pilbara. Having lived in Port Hedland since 2006 you can also call him a local.

Jessica Finch, BSc

Business Improvements Manager

Jessica has been with Finmec (previously EMS) since its inception. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of WA and previously worked developing ‘return to work’ and rehabilitation programs for injured employees. She started at EMS as our office manager and was responsible for administration, accounts and OHSE. These days Jessica has also taken on the role of business improvements and OHSE management, to add to her already impressive resume.

Ray Foggerdy

Workshop Supervisor – Earthmoving Equipment

It’s fair to say that Ray knows his way around mining equipment, having spent over 40 years in the mining industry. A Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic by trade, Ray’s experience now extends to management and supervisory roles. Previously a General Manager of a mining service provider, Ray had a key hand in constructing a new rebuild workshop and setting up a field service team. That company grew to become a real player under his leadership and was later successfully sold to a publicly listed mining company.

Now we are beyond lucky to have him overseeing all earthmoving and heavy equipment jobs in our Port Hedland workshop.
